Founder/Senior  Pastor Bishop Ernest Gilliam, Jr.

BishopErnest G. Gilliam, Jr., the fifth child born to the late Bishop
Ernest G. Gilliam, Sr., and Founding Pastor Winnie Gilliam, grew up in Baltimore, Maryland with his five siblings: The late Denise Gilliam, Glendine, Joyce, Jacqueline, and brother, Sedrick.  He was saved in 1978 after hearing the spoken word preached by his anointed mother.  He graduated from Northern High School and continued studies at Morgan State University, majoring in Business Administration.

It was never a part of his life objectives to be a minister.  However, during a yearly church planning session in July 1989, the Holy Spirit ushered a hearty anointing upon him and spoke specifically to him regarding the call upon his life for the ministry.  He rejected the call for some time before finally yielding.

In his walk with the Lord, God has developed in him a genuine concern for souls and an authentic compassion for people.  With this trait in hand, God has used him mightily in the arena of evangelism.  As a direct result, souls are being added to the Kingdom.

While growing up in St. Paul Apostolic Holiness Church, God has blessed Ernest Gilliam Jr. to serve in several capacities within the body of Christ such as:  Youth President, Youth Pastor, Bible Institute Instructor, Public Relations Specialist, Citywide Youth Crusade Coordinator, Brotherhood Fellowship Coordinator, Executive Trustee Board Chairman and Co-Pastor of St. Paul Apostolic Holiness Church.

Bishop Ernest has pursued his academic studies in the area of theology at the Evangelistical Biblical Studies Institute International, located in Wheaton, Illinois, where he graduated.

1995, Bishop Ernest was ordained and installed Senior Pastor of St. Paul Apostolic Holiness Church, Inc. after the retirement of the former Pastor, his mother the early Founding Pastor Winnie Gilliam.  He understood the awesome responsibility that faced him.  His vision for the church paralleled that of the predecessor to see that sinners are saved, saints are edified and God is ultimately glorified.  Pastor Ernest served in this capacity faithfully for 10 years.

In September, 2006, Bishop Ernest was lead by God to venture out to start a new ministry.  Refreshing Life Ministries, Inc.  Pastor Ernest echoes the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:20, “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”

On Saturday, February 10, 2007, Bishop Ernest Gilliam was united in Holy Matrimony to Ms. Donna Lynn York.  They currently reside in West Baltimore County and have three lovely children: Tavoria, Tavahn, Ronnie, one son-in-law, David, and four grandchildren: Kayla, Kaliah, Kyra, MarcGregory and mother-in-law, Mother York.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill and to destroy; I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. St. John 10:10
